Is this a real plant, or something synthetic? And all the other colourful, tubelike, curly-wirly objects in some of the other pictures?

They're all made of glass. Chihuly is a glassblowing artist. It's pretty cool. Some of the stuff looked kind of plonked in but some looked good.
