Sour Grapes
Watched a v. funny movie in the middle of the night called "Sour Grapes". It's produced by the Seinfeld team and it's about a pair of cousins who have a feud after one of them wins a jackpot in a casino after borrowing two quarters from the other to put in his machine, and then won't split the winnings. It was very, very funny. Didn't know anybody in it except Kristin Davis who appears briefly in a spoof of Friends on the telly. Middle-of-the-night telly has improved greatly since I last saw it.
The new organic butcher down the road has opened! We shall go visit, no doubt. There was a queue out the door last Saturday and lots of enticing crowns of lamb, slabs of belly pork and such in the window. Also, many butcher-type people in white, with white hats and stripey aprons serving like demons, brand spanking new black and white tiles and a happy balloon cow floating above the door. All you could want from a butcher, I feel.

Blechhh...
...is how I'm feeling at the moment. I can't go to the gym because of ailing ankle, I'm fed up of work which is so boring I keep dribbling on my keyboard, I'm being recalled for a profit-share play which will do nothing for me or my career, I ache and am generally weary. And it keeps raining in the middle of blummin August. Can't wait for winter - should be a cracker.
Plus point is Malaysia Airlines has super cheap deal for next May. So, see you in May, family mine!

Urban Junkies
The so-called hip e-newsletter Urban Junkies has launched a thinly veiled bile-ridden article, ostensibly about the new wine bar Black Cherry on Lordship Lane, disguised as publicity - but actually seems to be an all-out diss of East Dulwich. Tis most strange.
Still if it keeps the snotty-nosed, "ueber"-trendy media types out of the area - all to the good in my opinion.
PS Had sausages from the organic butcher van yesterday for dinner. They're a bit strange. A bit sour and crumbly. Not recommended - unlike their super duper lamb chops.
Have twisted my ankle which is a complete pain in both the physical and mental sense. And it's a bad one. :(
